About Examinations
Indian Classical instruments are widely gaining acceptance by mainstream examination boards across the United kingdom.
We recognise the importance to students of examinations. They help to
- instil regular practice routines
- set realistic goals and targets for students to aim for
- build a sense of achievement
Who Coaches?
Mr Sulekh Ruparell, professional musician, performance artist and teacher, has been helping students who wish to be entered for examinations achieve their grades.
He has coached and prepared more than 30 students over the past 3 years to succeed in examinations with the vast majority gaining either merits or distinctions in their musical disciplines.
He has helped to coach many children to face interviews to secondary schools for music by building confidence in classes and ironing out practical performance errors.
Theory papers (see photo above) were taken at a venue close to students so that they did not have to travel and practical tests were carried out at Eastern Music Company Studio, a venue familiar to them, which helped students to perform better than they would otherwise.
What do the students get at the end of it?
Every year prizes are handed out in a presentation ceremony at a special music event organised by Eastern Music Company to the best performing students in separate categories. We feel that this encourages them to perform better and be proud of their success!!
Students also receive their certificates and eligibility for the next grade which we feel helps to continue their progress. (see sample examination certificates).
