Harmonium : A Beginner's Course guides you through all the basics of playing the harmonium and singing Indian music.
You'll begin by understanding the workings of the harmonium, its functions and how to get the best sound from your instrument. Then you'll learn to play all the notes (swar) with the correct hand position, relax as you sing each one in tune and develop your playing through a series of special exercises (alankar) designed to improve your tone and speed.

Not only is harmonium and vocal taught, but as part of the course, particular attention is paid to singing in rhythm or Taal. All the main rhythms are explained with live Tabla and notation ensuring that you know how to play and sing in beat from the very beginning!
